Introducing Dave Herz

Dave Herz is the President and Founder of Vive! (originally called Confident Living). He has held every practitioner role in the company--parent coach, mentor, and clinical team leader! As the company grows, Dave remains committed to keeping his hands on the practice side of things, teaching the Vive! Dynamic and leading the Boulder clinical team. Dave has an M.A. in Education from the University of Colorado - Boulder, is a Certified Psychotherapist and has worked with kids and families as a teacher, counselor, therapist, mentor and coach for more than 20 years.

Dave will regularly publish a blog that touches on an issue relevant to families in transition. He will either publish a story that illustrates some element of the Vive! Dynamic, discuss a topic of interest to families with a struggling teen or young adult, or invite a guest blogger to comment on a topic of relevance.

"Every family is living out of a story that's still unfinished. This means that every family has the power, working together, to make new decisions about what the next chapter will be like. We help families step back and evaluate the story they've created so far and then imagine, write, and live out the next chapter in a new and better way. We believe in happy endings. That's why I want true, family stories to be the core of my blog."

Dave's first blog will be a true story about how Action-Oriented Therapy changed one young man's life.
